Deborah Serafini, a Cleveland native, spent much of her childhood dreaming of becoming a world-class surgeon until she played a “side by side” with the Cleveland Orchestra. The experience of playing rehearsals and a concert with those amazing musicians ignited her passion for the violin and music, which still exists 42 years later.
She spent six years at Indiana University earning her Bachelor and Master degrees in music performance and studying with the world-renowned teacher and former concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra, Josef Gingold.
Deborah joined the Minnesota Orchestra in 1977 and has enjoyed the superb musicianship and commitment to excellence of her orchestra colleagues for 35 seasons. She is especially proud of her friends and colleagues in the first violin section.
