Violinist Catherine Schubilske is fortunate to play timeless music for our thriving Minnesota music-loving community. She recently joined the Hill House Chamber Players, and enjoys chamber music as guest recitalist at several series, including the WFMT Dame Myra Hess broadcasts, UWParkside, Music at Trinity.
Cathy studied with Jens Ellerman in master classes in Germany and at the University of Cincinnati where she won the Hermann violin scholarship, and earned a masters degree as a student of Franco Gulli at Indiana University. She has toured and performed with the Chicago Symphony as an extra, and played with the orchestras of Santa Fe Opera, Milwaukee and Honolulu before joining the Minnesota Orchestra.
Cathy and her daughter Clara are volunteer musicians at Dorothy Day, Listening House and hospice centers, and organize an annual Turkey Trot benefit 5k in Shoreview. She is a fan of hiking, biking, reading, yoga, Bach, James Sewell Ballet,
Joey Stephens, and the Chippewa Middle School orchestra.
